Fluke’s new 430 Series three-phase power quality analyzers help pinpoint problems faster, safer and in greater detail

Fluke has launched the 430 Series three-phase power quality analyzers. These innovative handheld tools offer unique features like AutoTrend and System-Monitor which help to drill down into power quality problems faster and in greater detail, and with the CAT IV 600V safety rating for all four-channels, the 430 series can measure all phases and neutral on virtually every connection in a low voltage application.

Product information

Unique AutoTrend: no time wasted setting up recordings

The AutoTrend function provides fast insight into changes over time without the need to set up specific threshold levels or interval times or to manually start the process. Every reading is always recorded, and it is possible to switch between data and trend plots – and even to zoom in and use cursors for detailed analysis – while background recording continues. With AutoTrend, no valuable data or time is wasted setting up the instrument and starting separate measurements.

System-Monitor: check power against EN50160

With a single push of a button, the System-Monitor feature provides a comprehensive overview of the power system’s quality by checking the conformity to limits specified in EN50160 or to a user’s own specified limits. The overview is displayed on a single screen, with color-coded bars clearly indicating which parameters fall within the limits.

A list with all events falling outside the limits is available. Drilling down into these events is easy while the underlying trend data of all measured parameters for the three phases and neutral are stored and can be viewed and analyzed in detail using cursors and zoom.

Four-channel instruments with 600 V CAT IV safety rating

As four-channel instruments, the Fluke 433 and 434 can simultaneously measure voltage and current on all three phases and neutral. The series supports all commonly used wiring schemes. They are also the first instruments of this type to meet the stringent 600 V CAT IV safety standard required for measurements at the service entrance, and can be used on virtually all power connections and outlets in low-voltage power-distribution systems.

The most versatile power quality analyzer

Designed for applications in industry, healthcare, business, public services and all areas where power quality is critical, the Fluke 433 and 434 are comprehensive three-phase troubleshooting tools. They measure all power system parameters in accordance with the latest IEC61000-4-30 standard, like true RMS voltage and current, frequency, power, power consumption (energy), unbalance and flicker, and can track (inter-) harmonics. They also automatically capture events like transients (as fast as 5 microseconds and as high as 6kV), interruptions, rapid voltage changes and dips and swells.

Optimized for mobile applications, these ruggedized instruments run over 7 hours on a single battery load. The large data memory stores up to 50 screens and up to 10 measurements each comprising 32 parameters – including setups and trend data – recorded for more than a year, all of which can be transferred to a PC via FlukeView® software for analysis or use in reports. Both models also feature versatile scope functionality.

The 430 Series three-phase power quality analyzers are supplied in a hard case as a complete package with four clamps and five test leads. A kit to upgrade the 433 to 434 specification (extra functionality plus FlukeView and optical connection cable) is also available.
